Grounds Krewe is a non-profit with a mission to promote waste prevention, recycling and sustainable products at New Orleans special events. The organization's primary focus is on reducing the impacts associated with millions of pounds of imported, disposable, plastic Mardi Gras parade "throws" by creating and selling eco-friendly alternatives that support Louisiana products and people.
Single use plastics are among the worst things we can be consuming at the moment. Grounds Krewe helps keep MILLIONS of pounds of these throw away items out of landfills, our oceans and our wild places. There are hundreds of these types of events around the world every year with hundreds of millions in attendance. I would love to see Grounds Krewe grow to support more events around the nation to help align these culturally and traditionally enriching events with the realities of Climate. - Pete
